Sweet Peyton Pie

I snapped this pic. of Peyton sleeping. He looked so cute all stretched out! He seems so much taller when he's sleeping.

Peyton loves to play in my shoes! Whenever my closet is open he drags out a pair. He also loves my make up brushes. So, this picture is future blackmail with the shoes and brush!

Creative Fun

I decided to make a Halloween and Baby boy basked for a silent auction for the ARC, which is Mississippi's center for retarded citizens. Sarah, Erich's sister, is a member and they are trying to raise funds for the organization which lost a lot of its sponsors after Katrina. Well, I didn't end up having a basket, so they are just going to sell the items separately.

Goin for a ride on my big, green tractee

Our neighborhood is having an open house next weekend and has hired someone to cut the overgrown lots. They have taken a break the last couple of days, but has the tractor sitting at the front of the neighborhood. Every time we pass by it on our walks Peyton says, "tractee". It is too cute. I took my camera with me today and snapped some photos of him "riding" the big, green tractee. Notice he doesn't look to thrilled when I had him sit inside the tire. The sun had just come out and was in his face. He loved turning the wheel and moving the levers. Don't worry anyone, he wasn't pulling hard enough to move anything! So begins our love of all things tractee!

Gracie the Cocker Spaniel or Gracie the Weiner Dog

I really would have liked to separate these photos for effect, but it won't let me. Maybe that is a lesson someone can teach me about. It makes me put them all together.

So, Grace last night sees a dove lounging on the front porch and goes crazy over it. That stupid dove wouldn't move. I even let Grace out a couple of times and it still came back. I was just tired of her scratching the door. But, she looked cute so I snapped some pics. Now I am glad I did.

Today I took her to the groomers looking like a shaggy cocker. I asked the groomer to cut her a little shorter (she's had this cut several times this summer) rather than the regular cocker cut since she likes to romp in the grass and bring things in on her fur. That was at 9 this morning. At 5 this evening I still hadn't heard anything from the groomer so I called.....The owner answered and was surprised I hadn't been to get her since she was ready for several hours....Well, nobody called me..

I sent Erich to get her on his way home from work. In runs Grace.....the weiner dog! Wait, she's not a weiner dog. Wheres her hair? What have they done with Grace????? Long story short, I called and the owner answered the phone. We know her and are usually happy with her service. Anyway, Grace had a different groomer today than usual and she thought that cut her shorter meant SHAVE the dog. well, the owner apologized and said the next groom is on them...which I think should be the case since she sat up there in a cage all day and had to come home with a different identity. The funny thing is the groomer asked this morning if i wanted to keep her ears the same. It is a good thing i said yes, or my cocker might not even have her signature ears. What do you think? Does she look like a spaniel( minus the ears which give her away?)

On another note, while she was gone I cleaned her cage and for the first time Peyton decided he needed to check it out for himself...

My photos aren't that clear of her before and after. I am NOT a good photographer.

Peyton's idiosyncrasies

Yes, I did have to google how to spell that word....ha, ha.

Peyton is loving shoes right now! I have a picture on here from yesterday of him in my flip flops, and now he's moved on to DaDa's shoes. Erich was packing and Peyton took them out of his suitcase and I helped him put them on. Then, he got so mad because the shoes were so heavy he couldn't get them to move. He is insistent upon wearing our shoes and then gets frustrated if they don't work right.

Peyton's other idiosyncrasy is that he is very particular about where things go and how things work. He is obsessed with closing the garage door and if I leave him outside for just a minute he climbs up the step to the house and closes the inside door also. Don't ever leave keys inside with this boy, because he will lock you out in a heartbeat! I think his daddy has already taught him to be energy efficient. ha,ha

Pictures

Here are the pictures to go with yesterday's blog. Peyton had a fun time with his grandparents in Gulfport.
